This tool is a tracker and calculator, not marketing advice. It does not recommend when or at what price to sell and does not forecast prices — you enter your own bushels, prices, and basis. Numbers here are approximate and for planning only. Your grain buyer's settlement sheet and elevator statement govern actual bushels and dollars; this tool does not replace your farm's accounting or tax records.

How much have I sold vs. have left to sell?

Every harvest season, the same question comes up: how many bushels have I produced, how many have I already sold, and how many are still unpriced? Extension PDFs and shared spreadsheets work, but they are slow on a phone and easy to break mid-season.

This free grain sales tracker gives you a snapshot in under 10 seconds. Enter your acres and yield (or harvested bushels), log your sales with prices, and type today’s local cash price. You get:

  • Total production — from standing estimate or harvested bushels
  • Bushels sold — with a weighted-average sale price across multiple sales
  • Unpriced bushels — what’s still open
  • Percent priced — at a glance
  • Remaining value — approximate gross dollars at the cash price you enter

No login, no app, no market feed. You supply every price.

Track bushels in the field and in the bin

Mid-harvest, you may have both a standing crop estimate and bushels already in the bin. The calculator handles this without double-counting:

  • If you enter harvested bushels, that number is your actual production total.
  • Still in field = standing estimate minus harvested (shown for context).
  • Bushels in storage is a location detail — it does not get added on top of harvested.

Figure out how many bushels fit in your bin with the grain bin volume calculator, then track what’s sold here. For wet grain on a scale ticket, use the moisture helper to convert pounds to market-standard dry bushels — same math as our grain moisture calculator.

Weighted-average sale price & percent priced

If you sold at different prices across the season, the calculator computes a bushel-weighted average:

Weighted avg = Σ (bushels × price) / Σ bushels

Percent priced = bushels sold with a price / total production × 100.

Example: 100 acres × 180 bu/ac = 18,000 bu production. You sold 6,000 bu at $4.20. That is 33% priced with 12,000 bu still unpriced.

Value your unpriced bushels at today’s cash price

Enter a local cash price and the calculator multiplies your unpriced bushels:

Remaining value = unpriced bushels × cash price

This is approximate gross value before shrink, discounts, and fees. It is not a price forecast — you enter the cash price yourself. Your grain buyer’s settlement sheet governs actual dollars.

How the math works

Production: If harvested bushels are entered, they replace the acres × yield estimate as your actual total. Otherwise the standing estimate (acres × yield) is used. If only storage is entered, that becomes your production snapshot.

Priced vs. unpriced: In this free snapshot, only cash sales with an entered price count as priced. Unpriced = total production − priced bushels.

Scale ticket (wet → dry): Wet bushels = net weight (lb) / test weight (lb/bu). Dry bushels = wet × [(100 − wet moisture) / (100 − market moisture)]. The advanced section also offers a shrink-factor method to match a specific elevator.

Basis (for reference): Cash price = futures price + basis. Basis contracts and HTA leave part of the price open — TurnRow Pro will track those separately so percent priced stays honest.

FAQ

What counts as “priced” in this calculator?

A cash sale where you enter both bushels and a flat price per bushel. Basis-only, HTA, and deferred-price deliveries are unpriced until a flat cash price is locked — Pro will track those contract types separately.

Can I share my snapshot with someone?

Yes. Use Share / copy link to generate a URL with your inputs encoded. Nothing is saved on our servers — the link reproduces your snapshot from the query parameters.

What if I sold more than I produced?

The calculator shows a warning and clamps unpriced bushels to zero. Check your entries — scale tickets, moisture adjustments, and production estimates often need a second look.

Does bushels in storage get added to my total?

No. Storage is where grain physically sits — a subset of harvested. If you only know what’s in the bin, enter storage alone and the calculator uses it as your production snapshot.

Is crop-share supported?

The free tool shows whole-farm totals. TurnRow Pro will support owner share splits on production, remaining bushels, and sales.
