Tank mix products

Product 1

Enter acres, carrier volume, and at least one product to see amounts and cost.

Mixing order hint (informational only)

Informational only — always follow the product label; it governs. A common general order when the label doesn't specify: water conditioners / AMS first into a half-to-three-quarters-full tank of water → W wettable powders & water-dispersible granules (WG/DF) → A agitate → L liquid flowables / suspension concentrates (SC) → E emulsifiable concentrates (EC) → S surfactants/solutions (NIS, COC, MSO) last. Verify tank-mix compatibility with a jar test.

Always read and follow the product label. Verify tank-mix compatibility before mixing (perform a jar test). Label directions govern in all cases. This tool performs arithmetic on the values you enter and does not recommend rates, products, or mixes.

What this calculator does

Build a spray pass in one screen: per-acre and per-tank-load amounts, total quantity to buy (rounded up to whole jugs or bags), cost per acre per product, total field cost, and a printable mix sheet.

This is a calculator and organizer — it does not recommend rates, products, adjuvants, or tank mixes. Enter rates from your product labels.

How to use it

  1. Enter field acres and carrier GPA (gallons per acre of spray solution).
  2. Optionally enter tank capacity to see per-tank-load amounts and tank load count.
  3. Add each product in your tank mix: name, formulation, label rate + unit, supplier price, and package size.
  4. Read the results: amounts per acre, per tank, total to order, and cost.

Pair spray input costs with the crop breakeven calculator to know what your pass needs to return. For fertility planning, see the fertilizer rate calculator.

Chemical Cost Calculator FAQ

How many jugs of herbicide do I need for my field?

Enter acres, the label rate (fl oz/ac), and package size. The tool totals gallons and rounds up to whole jugs.

How do I convert oz per acre to gallons?

Multiply fl oz/ac × acres ÷ 128. Example: 32 × 150 ÷ 128 = 37.5 gal.

How do I calculate % v/v to ounces per tank?

Tank gal × (percent ÷ 100) × 128 = fl oz. Example: 800 × 0.0025 × 128 = 256 fl oz.

Does this tool recommend rates or mixes?

No. You enter label rates. The tool only converts units and totals cost.
